Privacy Policy

EatRai (“we”, “the app”) is a free web app at eatrai.help that helps you pick a nearby restaurant. This policy explains what data we handle and why. We keep it minimal on purpose: there are no accounts and we run no database of users.

What we collect

• Your approximate location — only when you allow it, and only to search for restaurants near you. It is sent to our server for that single request and to Google Places (see below). We do not store your location on our servers or link it to you.
• On-device storage — your saved (“liked”) places, filter choices, chosen language, and a random anonymous id are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. They never leave your device except as described below, and clearing your browser data removes them.
• Basic request logs — like any website, our server briefly logs IP address and request details for security and abuse prevention. These are not used to profile you and are retained only short-term.

Third parties

• Google Places API provides the restaurant listings, ratings, and photos. Your search location is passed to Google to return nearby results. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Google AdSense shows ads on the app and on our area guide pages. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we show Google’s consent banner so you can choose. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. • Vercel and Google Cloud host the site and API and process requests on our behalf.
• Donations — the “Support the developer” page shows a PromptPay QR. If you choose to donate, the payment goes directly between your bank and ours through PromptPay; no third-party processor is involved and we don’t collect any donor information.

Cookies

The app itself does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Cookies and similar storage are set by Google AdSense when ads load, subject to your consent choices where a consent banner is shown.

Your choices

• Deny or revoke the browser location permission at any time — the app still works if you pick an area manually.
• Clear your browser’s site data for eatrai.help to erase everything stored on your device.
• Adjust or reject ad personalisation via the consent banner (where shown) or Google Ad Settings.

Children

EatRai is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Data outside Thailand

Our providers (Google, Vercel) may process requests on servers outside Thailand. By using the app you understand your requests may be handled in other countries.

Changes

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change and material changes will be noted on this page.
